We could just as easily call this program, "Revolutionary Tourism, Part 2." The main feature is a rarely seen or talked about documentary film produced by Tom Hayden's Indochina Peace Campaign (along with engaged cinematographer Haskell Wexler, director of Medium Cool, 1969). INTRODUCTION TO THE ENEMY documents a trip Hayden and then-wife Jane Fonda took to Vietnam in 1974 - 12 years after the Port Huron statement; 4 years after the Chicago 7 would be acquitted of conspiracy (and the "Free the Army" tour would begin); 2 years after Hayden would be kicked out of the Red Family (Fonda won an Academy Award for Klute, and starred in Tout va bien); and 2 years after the infamous "Hanoi Jane" spectacle.
This is the third of three screenings Red Channels has organized with the Left Forum, in advance of their October 15th free public debate with Tom Hayden at the Community Church.
